The Fashion Manufacturing Initiative by the CFDA

The Fashion Manufacturing Initiative (FMI) is a program of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) in partnership with the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC).

FMI was created to nurture, elevate and preserve garment production in New York City, ultimately connecting fashion designers to local manufacturers. The program includes: the FMI Grant Fund offering financial grants to manufacturers committed to improving their services through innovation and technology; a Production Directory on CFDA; ongoing professional development, collaborative industry events and creative partnerships.


The CFDA is proud to include local manufacturers at Premiere Vision New York under the Made In USA showcase to help PV attendees connect with top-tier production facilities in New York City and Los Angeles. You can find all of these and many more resources at
